What To Do In Charleston For July 4th 2016

It's that time of year again to celebrate the birth of American Independence with a bang and there are plenty of ways to get your party on in Charleston.  From parades to fireworks we have you covered on the best places to hang out with friends and family and enjoy the festivities.

NOTICE: Folly Beach Public Safety issued an announcement via their facebook page stating that there will be no fireworks display this year on Folly for 4th of July. This is due in part to the exceptionally high tides which will make it impossible to stay within state regulations regarding space requirements.

 

Moncks Corner:

The Moncks Corner Regional Recreational Complex will host a 4th of kick off on Saturday July 2 starting at 4pm with a parade down Main Street, followed by a festival inside the Regional Recreation Complex. The festival will feature food trucks, vendors, and activities for children. Live music will begin at 7pm and last until 9:30pm. Fireworks will immediately follow the Street Dance. Come help us celebrate Independence Day!

Summerville:

Monday July 4 the Town of Summerville and Summerville Dream have combined forces to present Summerville’s Red, White and Blue on the Green at Gahagan Park from 5:30pm – 9:30pm. This FREE family friendly event include a Kid’s Zone with free games and prizes, a Carolina Ale House- Summerville Beer Garden with wine and 5 different beers available for purchase, Triple Dog Dare playing all of your favorites from the 80's, 90's and today, and food vendors serving up all of your favorite treats in the food court (visit www.SummervilleSC.gov/RWBG for a full list of Food Vendors with pricing)

Goose Creek:

On Sunday July 3 from 7pm-2am El Guacamole Bar and Grille of Goose Creek will be the home of Zombie Independence, Charleston’s largest zombie rave ever! From the people that brought you Total Mayhem and Valentine’s Day Bassacre comes a night of gore and craziness. Airo, Tye Dye, Socar, and DJOKER will be kicking things off. Headliners DOMII AND YUKI will be going B2B for all of you to rage the night away surrounded by state of the art lighting and pro fog machines, L.E.D glow sticks, confetti launchers and many more surprises TBA. Sunday July 2 Brickhouse Kitchen and Charleston Affair are throwing down from 5:30-10:30pm with the All American Independence Day party to benefit Lowcountry Local First. Great live music from Return of the Mac, The Tidal Jive Band and the Club bullies! Celebrate America under the gorgeous oak trees with delicious BBQ, great activities including cornhole and a photobooth, and, of course, Fireworks!! Your $35 ticket includes All You Can Eat barbeque, live music, and all activities.

North Charleston:

Monday July 4 Riverfront Park and the city of North Charleston present the 1st Annual 4th of July Party at Riverfront Park. Live music on the water starting at 4pm with performances by Jump Castle Riot, On The Border, Funk Factory Five, and Palmetto Percussion. The Charlestones end the night performing with fireworks.

Mount Pleasant:

Monday July 4 The USS Yorktown presents 4th of July Fireworks Blast! Celebrate the Fourth of July on board one of the most historic warships in the United States, the USS YORKTOWN on the Charleston Harbor at Patriots Point. To watch the fireworks blast and enjoy live music from the flight deck of the USS Yorktown, a ticket must be purchased at one of the two levels outlined below. Optionally, other than the cost of parking, there is NO CHARGE for guests who wish to watch the fireworks from the grassy area next to the marsh onshore. Patriots Point will also provide live music and children’s entertainment option for this area starting at 4 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and coolers and chairs are welcome. For those who wish to enjoy the Fourth of July Fireworks Blast from the unique venue of the flight deck of the USS Yorktown a ticket must be purchased for ALL ages, except for infants who will be held in their parent’s arms. VIP SEATING TICKET is $110 per person and includes complimentary drinks from two full-service bars, barbecue meal served by TOP SHELF Catering, access to a special area of the ship closest to the fireworks display, tables and chairs provided, and live music from the East Coast Party Band. On July 4th, parking will cost $10 for all visitors throughout the day.

Monday July 4 the CCPRC presents the Uncle Sam Jam. Enjoy the cool harbor breeze and dance to live beach music from Permanent Vacation at the perfect venue for celebrating our independence - the Mount Pleasant Pier! At the foot of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, stretching 1250 feet out into Charleston Harbor, the scenic Mount Pleasant Pier will also be a great spot to watch the area’s best fireworks displays! Join in on the party at the end of this scenic pier, and groove to live beach and party music. Sponsored by Bud Light and Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated.Beverages will be available for purchase inside the event. Treats and snacks will be available at the Riverwatch Cafe. Gates open at 7 p.m., and music starts at 8 p.m. Outside alcohol and coolers are prohibited.  Advanced Admission is available for $10/$8 CCR. Admission will be $10 on-site, if space is available. Downtown:

Holy City Entertainment along with Heineken, Brightsound Entertainment, YotMe, The Peper Law Firm PA, and Knights of Columbus presents “Salute Charleston”, a jam packed patriotic party this Friday July 1. The ticketed event is from 7-10pm, and 21+ only. Proper ID required. Your ticket purchase entails all-inclusive beer, wine, and bbq catering as well as 2 levels of live music.
