Description
There's no better seat for a Charleston sunset than the open water. As the light drops over the Lowcountry and the sky turns gold and pink behind the barrier island treeline, you'll be exactly where you need to be — out on the water with your crew, watching it all unfold from the best vantage point around.
Your captain heads out along the coastal waterways to the barrier islands, where you'll anchor off a sandbar for a wade-in stop — hunt for shells and shark teeth, cool off in the water, and watch the golden hour do its thing before heading back in. It's the kind of evening that's hard to describe and harder to forget.
Your captain is JB Layton, a Charleston native who spent years working the water professionally — from pearling vessels off the coast of northwest Australia to commercial fishing boats running offshore along the Atlantic. He's been back home in Charleston since 2021 and knows these waterways as well as anyone. Expect local knowledge, good conversation, and the occasional sea story.
